Student Accessibility Services provides equal access to educational, social, and recreational programs through coordination of services and reasonable accommodations, consultation, and advocacy.
A student is protected by Section 504 and Title III of the ADA with respect to CDU’s educational courses, programs, and activities if the student is a qualified individual with a disability.
The student must be capable of fulfilling the essential functions and requirements of the educational courses, programs, and activities, with or without reasonable modification or accommodations.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
All accessibility and disability-related information including documentation, accommodation letters, correspondence, and consultation are considered confidential and will be managed in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Student accessibility and disability records/documentation is considered part of the student’s education record. The information may be disclosed only with the permission of the student or as permitted by the University’s student records policy and federal law.
