Life at CDU

We are a learning community devoted to caring for all of our students. At CDU, there are many opportunities to connect with other students, engage with the community and find support. Explore what it’s like to be a student at one of the nation’s only Historically Black Medical Colleges.

Our Location

Our campus is located in the Watts-Willowbrook neighbohood of south Los Angeles, directly across from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital. Students and faculty actively serve our immediate community through clinics and healthcare resources.

Numerous fellowship, internship and residency opportunities are just a short distance away.

The Mervyn M. Dymally College of Nursing offers a variety of programs.
Our College of Medicine offers on-campus facilities and partners with multiple area hospitals for fellowship opportunities.
Several innovative research centers are located on our campus. Our researchers work closely alongside the NIH and CDC.
The future Health Professions Education Building will offer state-of-the-art facilities for our expanding medical programs.
CDU students and faculty lead a variety of community engagement programs. Community engagement is an essential part of our curriculum.
The all digital radiology lab provides multiple imaging simulators and equipment to enhance student learning.
The radiology lab is where CDU students gain valuable hands-on experience with x-ray, MRI, PET and CT equipment.
Our state-of-the-art nursing simulation center offers a safe and controlled environment for nursing students to refine technical and communication skills.
