Immigration Reform to Take Center Stage at CDU President’s Breakfast on February 29
The 9th annual CDU President’s Breakfast is scheduled to take place in person on Thursday, February 29 at 9:00 a.m. at Colburn School’s Zipper Hall in downtown Los Angeles. The topic of the 2024 edition is “Immigration Reform: A Moral Imperative.” The event is returning to an in-person format for the first time since 2020.
The panelists for this CDU President’s Breakfast will be Nana Gyamfi, Executive Director of Black Alliance for Just Immigration, and Efrain Talamantes, Senior Vice President and COO of Health Services at AltaMed along with Sonja F. M. Diaz, Founding Director, UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute. Caitlin Dickerson, a Pulitzer Prize and Peabody Award-winning journalist for The Atlantic, will also join the event as the keynote speaker.
“Immigration reform is a vital component of our societal fabric, and addressing it is a moral necessity,” said Dr. David Carlisle, CDU President and COO, who will serve as the host and moderator for the discussion. “Having the event take place in person once again allows the gathering to also serve as a networking opportunity and creates an occasion for all guests to exchange views and ideas on this vital topic.”
The President’s Breakfast serves as a platform for informed voices to engage in thoughtful conversations about topics aligned with CDU’s mission, vision, and goals. As in previous years, the format will include topic experts participating in a comprehensive panel discussion, providing attendees with an enriching and insightful experience.
Tickets are available now on the CDU President’s Breakfast webpage and includes a discount when purchased together with tickets for the upcoming Jazz at Drew concert taking place in September on the CDU campus.
