About

Dr. Washington is the Dean of the newly designated College of Nursing. She has more than forty years’ experience in nursing practice and nursing education. She is proud to be at the helm of the distinguished and fully accredited Mervyn M. Dymally College of Nursing. The College has BSN, RN-BSN, ELM undergraduate tracks, Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner graduate tracks, and a newly established DNP program.

In 2018 Dr. Washington was inducted as a Fellow in the prestigious American Academy of Nursing where she is recognized among the top 2% of nurses globally.

Scholarly Activities

Academic and research interests include vulnerable populations, health disparities, and instrument development for nursing assessment and evaluation.
