The 4-year program at Charles R. Drew University, College of Medicine, will participate in the American Medical College Application Service® (AMCAS) and can be found in the application system.
May 1, 2025: AMCAS application opens
May 28, 2025: Submission for AMCAS application verification begins
June 28, 2025: Application transmission to medical schools begins
Prospective students can explore detailed admissions data, class profiles, and financial information for the Charles R. Drew University College of Medicine through the AAMC Medical School Admission Requirements (MSAR) database.
The MSAR provides insight into acceptance rates, academic metrics, tuition, financial aid, and student demographics—helping applicants make informed decisions about applying to CDU’s College of Medicine.
We require all candidates to take the MCAT, and it must be taken no later than September of the year preceding admission to the School of Medicine. If there is more than one MCAT attempt, all test scores must be included on the application.
The test must be repeated if, at the time of matriculation, more than six years have elapsed since it was taken. For 2026 matriculation, the oldest acceptable MCAT score date is July 2022. For questions about registration and test administration, contact: mcat@aamc.org
Based on a thorough, comparative evaluation of the AMCAS application, supplemental information, and letters of recommendation, the candidate is invited to participate in virtual interview sessions with CDU faculty. We are conducting all interviews virtually.
2026 Cycle Timeline
The earliest date the primary application can be submitted is May 28, 2025
AMCAS primary application deadline: November 15, 2025
PLEASE NOTE: Although the deadline for submitting your primary application to AMCAS is November 15th, we strongly recommend submitting it no later than November 1, 2025.
Transcript Deadline: December 29, 2025
Medical College Admission Test deadline: September 13, 2025
Supplemental application deadline: 21 days after the date of the supplemental application request letter.
Application Review (Screening of completed applications): July 2025 through November 2025
Invitations for interviews: July through December 2025
Interviews: August through December 2025
Offers of admission: After February 15, 2026, until class has 60 spots filled.
“Plan to Enroll” is required to maintain a seat by February 19, 2026.
“Commit to Enroll” is required to maintain a seat by April 30, 2026.
Applicant’s response to acceptance offers: The Maximum time is two weeks.
Medical School starts: Tuesday, June 15th, 2026
Transfer Applications
The Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science Medical Degree Program does not accept transfer students.
Prerequisites for Admission
In addition to meeting the minimum prerequisites listed below, applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada. Please note that the prerequisite coursework must have been completed within the past 10 years.
