Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)
We require all candidates to take the MCAT and it must be taken no later than September of the year preceding admission to the School of Medicine. If there is more than one MCAT attempt, all test scores must be included on the application.
The test must be repeated if, at the time of matriculation, more than six years have elapsed since it was taken. For 2023 matriculation, the oldest acceptable MCAT score date is July 2018. For questions about registration and test administration, contact: mcat@aamc.org

INTERVIEW DAY
Based on a thorough and comparative evaluation of the AMCAS application, supplemental information, and letters of recommendation, the candidate receives a request for virtual interview sessions with CDU faculty. To adhere to physical distancing requirements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are conducting all interviews virtually.
TIMELINE
- AMCAS application deadline: February 28, 2023
- PLEASE: Although the deadline for submission of your primary application to AMCAS is February 28th, we strongly recommend submission no later than February 10, 2023
- Our deadline for submission of the supplemental/secondary application is March 1. Submission of the AMCAS application by February 10th assures that you can receive and submit your supplemental application by the March 1 deadline.
- Supplemental/Secondary application deadline: 14 days after the date of the supplemental application request letter, or March 1, 2023
- Screening of completed applications: October through Feb 2023
- Invitations for interviews: November through March 2023
- Interviews: December 2022 through April 2023
- Offers of admission: Distributed starting March 15, 2023, and continues until the class is filled
- Applicant's response to acceptance offers: Maximum time is two weeks
- School starts: July 10, 2023
TRANSFER APPLICATIONS
The Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science Medical Degree Program does not accept transfer students.
PREREQUISITES FOR ADMISSION
In addition to the minimum prerequisites listed below, successful applicants will have obtained a bachelor's degree from an accredited U. S. or Canadian college/university.
BACKGROUND CHECK
For training purposes, CDU uses multiple clinical partners that require background checks.
VACCINE REQUIREMENT
Students are required to attest to their vaccination status and receive vaccinations including COVID-19 vaccines.
Vaccines are required for all medical students.
