The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) is dedicated to supporting the academic and professional success of our faculty members.
Goals
Strategic Alignment: Achieve the strategic plans of CDU related to faculty affairs.
Faculty Success: Assist faculty in achieving academic and professional success.
Support Leadership: Aid the Deans, Faculty Executive Committee, and Appointments and Promotions Committee in faculty-related areas.
The OFA provides comprehensive support to faculty members, including:
Administrative Support: Facilitate academic advancement and career development.
Appointment and Promotion Assistance: Support department chairs and administrative offices in faculty appointments and promotions.
Collaboration: Work with College of Medicine team members to meet strategic goals.
Resources: Provide necessary forms and links for academic actions.

Faculty Appointment Process
Candidates for faculty appointments and promotions are evaluated based on a review of the dossier. A background check and an attestation of compliance with CDU policies are required in order to move forward with an initial appointment.
The dossier consists of:
A letter from the Chair outlining the candidate’s background, their role in the department, and a summary of reference letters. For promotions, the letter should include evidence of regional (associate professor) or national (professor) reputation.
Curriculum vitae using the template listed under Faculty Resources
Reference letters from faculty holding the proposed appointment rank or higher. For candidates at non-academic organizations (clinical, community, and adjunct faculty), the reference letter may be from faculty at an equivalent level.
