Welcome to Charles Drew University’s College of Science and Health!
Charles Drew University’s College of Science and Health offered a warm welcome this week to the150 incoming students who were greeted by university officials, faculty and staff. They were ushered on a guided tour of the campus, issued new student ID badges, given e-mail address and shown how to register online—a first for the university.
During the three-hour orientation, students heard remarks from Dr. Gail Orum-Alexander, Dean of COSH, Dr. Ron Edelstein, Dean of Academic Affairs and Dr. Christopher Reid, Associate Dean of COSH.
Student government representatives also introduced themselves before familiarizing the students to the university grounds.
“We just want to welcome our new students as they begin a new journey into health care with the understanding of the Charles Drew mission,” said Dr. Orum-Alexander.
Students at Charles Drew University’s College of Science and Health receive degrees and certificates in Biomedical Sciences, Community Health, Alcohol and Drug Studies, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Health Information Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Pharmacy Technology, Physician Assistance, Pre-Healing Arts, Radiography, Substance Abuse Counseling and Urban Public Health.
Classes begin August 24.
