For over 40 years, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science has educated health care professionals
in the community and excelled as a medical research facility. Since its first student enrollments in 1971,
Charles R. Drew University has graduated over 550 physicians, 1200 physician assistants,
2,800 physician specialists, and numerous other healthcare professionals—from diverse backgrounds
and most of whom are dedicated to careers working in underserved areas. Our mission to educate doctors,
nurses, and allied health providers engage in cutting edge medical research, and provide clinical services
