Charles R. Drew University Ranked Among Nation’s Top Colleges for Graduate Earnings

Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU) has been ranked #26 (tie) among the nation’s colleges and universities with the highest-paid graduates, according to a ranking published by Business Insider using data from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard.
The ranking measures median earnings four years after graduation. CDU ranked No. 26 nationally, with graduates earning a median salary of approximately $113,000. The University was recognized for its graduates’ success in high-demand healthcare and science fields, including nursing, radiology, and biomedical sciences.
“As we mark 60 years of advancing health equity, this recognition underscores the value of a CDU education and the impact our graduates are making as healthcare professionals serving communities throughout California and across the country,” said Dr. David M. Carlisle, CDU President and CEO. “We believe students should not have to choose between pursuing meaningful work and achieving economic mobility, and this ranking demonstrates that they can achieve both.”
Since its founding in 1966 in the wake of the Watts Rebellion, CDU has remained committed to expanding educational opportunity, advancing health equity, and preparing diverse health professionals who are equipped to lead, serve, and improve health outcomes in communities that have historically faced barriers to care.
The ranking comes as the demand for healthcare professionals continues to grow across the nation. CDU graduates are helping meet that need in hospitals, clinics, community health centers, research institutions, and public health organizations throughout California and across the country.
