International Representatives Visit CDU Campus
Father Innocent Rugaragu from Kigali, Rwanda, visited the CDU campus as part of the Office of International Affairs’ Global Impact Series.
Amidst the concerted efforts of Rwandans to heal and progress following the genocide, Father Innocent Rugaragu emerged as a vital figure in both the nation’s emotional recovery and its academic advancement.
In partnership with the community he serves, his leadership in youth reconciliation post-genocide has been pivotal.
As the president of Saint Ignatius School in Kigali, Father Rugaragu continues to play a crucial role in advancing STEM education and fostering innovation within the community.
“By promoting dialogue, collaboration, and innovation, we can help to drive positive change, build stronger communities and create a better future for all,” said Dr. Lejeune Lockett, Director of the CDU Office of International Affairs.
The Global Impact Series is a testament to CDU’s dedication to global health and equity.
This initiative showcases CDU’s engagement with critical global health issues, including HIV/AIDS, cancer, and cardiovascular disease, through engaging speakers and events.
CDU also welcomed Chibamba Kanyama, Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to the US who is based in Washington, DC.
He met with University leaders and CDU’s Zambia grant team to discuss the Rise UP! project and CDU’s initiatives in Lusaka and the Copperbelt.
As his role is to represent and support the Zambian diaspora residing in the U.S., this was a great opportunity to connect Kanyama with CDU as an option for study and collaboration.
