Leaders and Mentors at CHER
Researchers with a history of NIH funding serve as CHER Institute Mentors. Some of these Mentors come from institutions with significant NIH support, and others come from low resource institutions, leading to a range of experiences and barriers in navigating institutional support.
Together, CHER Institute Mentors have a breadth of research experience in the areas of collaborative biomedical research, including cancer, social psychology, health risk behaviors, applied biostatistics, social work, medicine, preventative medicine, epidemiology, innovative data collection strategies, and stakeholder-based participatory research methods.
In each case, faculty members were selected based on their scholarly contributions to their respective specialty focus within the broad fields of public health. Faculty Mentors participate in the various components of the CHER Institute based on availability and need.
