CDU Receives Funding from the Health Professions Pathway Program

CDU is a recipient of the California Department of Health Care Access and Information’s (HCAI) Health Professions Pathway Program (HPPP) award in the amount of $3.4 million.
HPPP is a competitive grant designed to recruit and support students from underrepresented regions and backgrounds to pursue health careers to develop a more culturally and linguistically competent healthcare workforce. The grant, which is awarded annually, serves as an opportunity to award organizations that will develop and implement health professions pathways programs that can include pipeline programs, summer internships, and post undergraduate fellows.
CDU demonstrates a commitment to the HPPP goals through the implementation of pipeline programs, paid summer internships for undergraduate students, and one year-post undergraduate fellowships. The University was awarded in all three categories.
The HCAI is committed to expanding equitable access to healthcare for all Californians – ensuring every community has the health workforce they need, safe and reliable health care facilities, and health information that can help make care more effective and affordable.
