CDU Kicks Off Holidays with Dessert Reception
The University continued its tradition of spreading holiday cheer with the annual Thanksgiving Dessert Reception, creating a sweet and festive atmosphere in the Cobb Building lobby for all staff, faculty, and students.
Jackie Brown, Director of University Events, expressed the importance of coming together to celebrate and appreciate the contributions each member of the CDU community makes to fulfill the university’s mission.
“In a year filled with challenges and triumphs, taking a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the unique gifts we bring to the table is crucial,” said Brown. “It’s an opportunity to build connections and foster a sense of gratitude within our campus community.”
The tables were adorned with a tempting array of desserts, ranging from cakes and pies to cookies and pastries.
Attendees enjoyed the delectable treats at the event and had an opportunity to reflect on the year and what makes a unique experience for all.
The day also included a dessert raffle. Five lucky attendees walked away with surprise specialty desserts, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities.
As the holiday season kicks off, the Thanksgiving Dessert Reception remains a cherished tradition at CDU, fostering a sense of gratitude and unity among students, faculty, and staff.
The event serves as a reminder of the importance of coming together, celebrating accomplishments, and expressing gratitude for the diverse talents and contributions that make the university community thrive.
