CDU Appoints COSH Interim Dean

Dr. Monica Ferrini has been appointed as the Interim Dean of the College of Science and Health. Dr. Ferrini will continue to lead her Biomedical Science Department while serving as the interim Dean.
“I am very pleased and honored that the CDU leadership granted me the opportunity to lead the College of Science and Health in this transition period,” said Dr. Ferrini. “I hope and wish that, together with all program directors, chairs, faculty, staff, and students, will continue the same professional atmosphere to provide academic excellence and disseminate the COSH and CDU missions to future generations.”
Dr. Ferrini, who has expanded her leadership role at CDU, is an Associate Professor in both the College of Science and Health’s Department of Health and Life Sciences and College of Medicine’s Department of Internal Medicine. She is also the Chair of the Department of Health and Life Sciences and the Director of the Bachelor’s program in Biomedical Sciences and the Master’s program in Biomedical Sciences.
Dr. Ferrini received her PhD in Physiology and a BS-M.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina. She is the recipient of the 2015 CDU Academic Senate Outstanding Professor Award.
Her research interest is to study the role of NO/cGMP in the amelioration of penile fibrosis associated with aging and nerve damage. She is a National Institute of Health-funded investigator and has published more than 70 papers in peer reviewed journals in the fields of neurobiology and urology.
