The Genetic Counseling Program (GCP) increases access to genetic counseling training for students from under-resourced communities, strengthening genomic healthcare in underserved populations.
The CDU Genetic Counseling Program is an ACGC-accredited program that prepares students for clinical practice through a flexible, hybrid learning model.
The program combines online coursework with required on-campus, in-person sessions held once per semester, along with a mix of on-site and remote clinical rotations. Consistent with the University’s mission to prepare healthcare professionals who serve their communities, the program accepts students from across the United States. When local clinical rotation sites are not available within a reasonable distance, students will complete approved distant clinical rotations to meet all clinical training requirements.
