Postbaccalaureate Leadership Program Certificate
The Pre-Medicine, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program aims to provide comprehensive premedical programming designed to deliver individualized guidance for future physician leaders to successfully gain admission into medical school. The program cultivates diverse physician leaders who are committed to serving under-resourced communities, embody cultural humility, and advocate for social justice.
Application Requirements
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited US college or university
- Demonstrated commitment to under-resourced communities
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.94
- Minimum science GPA of 2.8
- One (1) year of Biology with lab (2 semesters or 3 quarters)
- One (1) year of Chemistry with lab (2 semesters or three 3 quarters)
- One (1) year of Organic Chemistry with lab (2 semesters or 3 quarters)
- One (1) year of Physics with lab (2 semesters or 3 quarters)
- Biochemistry (encouraged, but not required)

- Re-Applicant: January 5, 2024 – April 7, 2024

- CDU PLP is a proud partner of the California Postbacc Consortium. The CA Postbacc Consortium utilizes a joint online application and a centralized service for supporting materials. In order to apply to our postbacc program, please visit the following website*:

- I. APPLICATION: Complete the Application via the CA Postbaccalaureate Consortium website, including the following:
- MCAT transcripts (if previously taken)
- AMCAS application (if previously applied to medical school)
- Personal Statement, Postbaccalaureate Essay, and Community Service Essay
- Confidential Letters of Recommendations (3)
- One (1) from a science faculty member
- One (1) from a community service experience
- One (1) from a faculty member, medical/research pathway program director, research director or principal investigator, or representative from a medical-related volunteer program
- Official transcripts from all Universities/Colleges attended

- II. Interview: Select applicants will be invited to continue the application process by participating in an in-person or virtual interview.
- II. ACCEPTANCE: CDU PLP applicants accepted into the program will be notified via a phone call and then a follow-up email. Tuition deposits will be due two weeks after notification to confirm enrollment.

International Student Applicants
We do not require a separate application or additional fee for international applicants. Students applying to the Pre-Medicine, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program should be prepared to meet all of the admissions requirements as outlined above.
Application Requirements for all applicants submitting coursework outside of the USA:
- Coursework completed outside the US must be evaluated for US course equivalency from one of the following services (course-by-course evaluation required):
- World Education Services (WES)
- Josef Silny & Associates (JSA)
- Global Credential Evaluators (GCE)
- International Education Research Foundation (IERF)
- Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute (ACEI)
- American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers, International Education Service (AACRAO IES)
