Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Entry-Level Master’s
The Master of Science in Nursing – Entry Level Master’s Program is designed for applicants who hold a baccalaureate degree in other fields. This allows pre-licensure nursing students to study basic nursing knowledge and science at the graduate level concurrently with graduate core content, preparing them for licensure as registered nurses. Students graduating from the ELM track will be able to assume the role of a direct provider of care, a nurse and administrator, or a nursing faculty member.
Application Requirements
- Completion of NursingCAS Application
- A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university (see below requirements for international students)
- Official transcripts from all regionally accredited post-secondary schools attended
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Applies to Cumulative GPA

- Complete all prerequisite courses with a grade of “B” or better prior to matriculation. Prerequisite courses marked with an asterisk (*) must be completed within 7 years of the application submission.

- Minimum of 75% overall cumulative and individual module score (includes module, submodule, and subsection scores 75% minimum requirement)

- Personal Statement
- One to Two Pages (no more than two)
- 12 point font (Times New Roman, Calibri, or Arial)
- Double-spacing is acceptable

Resume or curriculum vitae
All students must have a clear criminal background check within a month of being accepted into the program to begin. While in the program, a clear background check is required to progress through the program. Some agencies also require live scan fingerprinting in addition to background checks. To do so, a Social Security Number is required.
For International Students
We do not require a separate application or an additional fee, and you should be prepared to meet all admissions requirements outlined above. However, any coursework outside of the U.S. must be evaluated for U.S. course equivalency from one of the following (a course-by-course evaluation, including an equivalent degree with GPA required):
