Veterinary medicine involves preventing, diagnosing, and treating animal diseases across various species. Veterinarians provide medical care, conduct surgeries, vaccinations, and offer advice on animal welfare. Their work contributes to animal health, public health, and environmental preservation.
Application Service
To apply to most veterinary medical schools in the U.S. and some internationally, you must use VMCAS. This allows applicants to apply to multiple programs by submitting a single online application.
Graduate Records Exam (GRE)
The Graduate Records Exam (GRE) is required by some veterinary medicine programs. It evaluates a candidate’s verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing. The GRE may be a factor considered for admission decisions.
