Angela Venegas-Murillo, MD, MPH, MS, MS, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science and General Pediatrician at Martin Luther King, Jr. Pediatric Medical Home Clinic. Dr. Venegas-Murillo graduated from Stanford School of Medicine in 2013 and completed her residency training in the Social Pediatrics program at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in 2016. After residency, she completed a health service research fellowship through the UCLA National Clinician Scholars Program. Through the National Clinician Scholars Program, she obtained a Master’s degree in health policy and management and gained experience in community-partnered research. Her current research with UCAAN is focused on incorporating a trauma informed care approach to childhood obesity counseling in the primary care setting. Her research is in collaboration with the UCLA Nathanson Family Resilience Center that strives to bring trauma informed care into multiple settings.
