Roberto Vargas, MD, MPH, is assistant dean for health policy and inter-professional education within the College of Medicine and director of the Health Services Research and Policy Pillar of the Urban Health Institute at CDU. Dr. Vargas is leading university-wide efforts in health policy analysis and health services research. He supports efforts in action and advocacy consistent with the CDU Advantage curriculum and mission of promoting health equity and social justice. His research expertise includes descriptive and comparative analyses of health care interventions to improve health outcomes and reduce disparities in care, as well as community engagement in partnered research efforts. Dr. Vargas completed his master of public health degree at Harvard School of Public Health, medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, and undergraduate degree in the history and sociology of science at the University of Pennsylvania.
