The CDU HCOP Ambassador Academy offers a unique, tiered mentorship experience designed to help students grow academically, professionally, and personally while inspiring the next generation of health leaders.
Mentorship Structure
Receive Support:
Ambassadors are matched with a professional student mentor, such as a current medical student or physician assistant (PA) student, who shares their field of interest.
Give Back:
Undergraduate and graduate Ambassadors serve as mentors to high school students participating in the Public Health Career Academy (PHCA). This peer mentorship helps younger students explore health careers, build confidence, set goals, and feel supported on their journey.
CDU HCOP Summer Institute
The HCOP Summer Institute provides hands-on learning and personalized mentorship for students preparing for a future in health professions.
Career-Aligned Mentorship
Customized Matching:
Each Summer Scholar is paired with a mentor aligned with their health career goals. Mentors may include medical students (MD or DO), PA students, or professionals already working in the field.
Focused Preparation:
Students preparing for entrance exams, professional school applications, or interviews are matched with mentors who have recent experience in those areas. This ensures targeted, relevant support that helps students take the following steps toward their chosen careers.
