CDU COM Dean Receives Prestigious Excellence in Education Award
Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith, Dean and Professor of Internal Medicine at the CDU College of Medicine, has been honored with the 2024 Excellence in Education Award by the Harvard Club of Southern California.
The award was presented at the Club’s Annual Awards Dinner, held on June 23, at the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens.
Dr. Prothrow-Stith, an alumna of Harvard Medical School, was recognized for her significant contributions to public health education and her transformative leadership. Her efforts have been instrumental in addressing the educational and healthcare needs of South Los Angeles, one of the most underserved and disadvantaged communities in the nation.
In accepting the award, Dr. Prothrow-Stith expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am deeply honored to receive this award from the Harvard Club of Southern California. It is a privilege to be recognized by my peers and fellow alumni. Building a mission-driven career focused on education, public health, and medicine has been incredibly fulfilling, and I am proud to contribute to the advancement of these fields.”
