CDU/UCLA Medical Education Program

The historic CDU/UCLA Medical Education Program (MEP) is a testament to our commitment to excellence in medical education, emphasizing scholarship, compassion, and service. The MEP  has nurtured future medical leaders dedicated to advancing healthcare in underserved areas, both domestically and internationally, each year since its first class entered in 1981. The MEP set the foundation for the new medical school at CDU and is the basis for the new Health Equity Pathway at UCLA.

The last cohort of the MEP began its four-year journey fall 2023. Although we are no longer accepting applications for new cohorts, CDU cherishes the legacy of all students who have participated and are participating in this program, and who we count as alumni.

Students interested in earning an MD degree from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science are invited to apply to CDU’s new medical school’s our new medical school’s MD program.
