Applicants to the Pre-Nursing to BSN Track must meet the following admission requirements.
Prior to matriculation into the Nursing Direct phase/nursing division courses, students must complete all prerequisites. To transition to the Nursing Direct program, all Science and Math prerequisites must be completed with a grade of ‘B’ or better. Science and Math prerequisites must be completed within (7) years of starting the Pre-Nursing program. The remaining prerequisites (Non-Science and Non-Math) courses must be completed with a grade of ‘C’ or better.
To be considered for admission, applicants must submit:
Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, high school transcripts (for first-time college students), college transcripts (for transfer students), minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
GPAs below 3.0 may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
One letter of recommendation (academic or professional)
Resume or curriculum vitae, including professional and extracurricular experience
Additional documentation may be required during the admissions review process.
Prerequisite Coursework Requirements
Prior to matriculation into the Nursing Direct (upper-division BSN) phase, students must complete all required prerequisite courses.
To qualify for transition into the Nursing Direct program:
Science and Math prerequisites must be completed with a grade of B or better
Science and Math courses must be completed within seven (7) years of starting the Pre-Nursing track
Non-science and non-math prerequisites must be completed with a grade of C or better
These requirements ensure students are academically prepared for the rigor of nursing coursework and clinical training.
TEAS Exam Requirement
Applicants must complete the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) prior to entering the Nursing Direct phase.
Minimum requirements:
75% overall cumulative score
75% minimum in each module, submodule, and subsection
No maximum limit on the number of attempts
Interview Requirement
Beginning with Fall 2027 admissions, selected applicants will be required to participate in an in-person interview with the BSN leadership team as part of the admissions process.
