The Pre-Nursing to BSN Track prepares students for entry into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program and careers as licensed registered nurses (RN).
This pathway is designed for first-time college students and transfer students who have not yet completed the required nursing prerequisites. Students begin by completing general education coursework, foundational science courses, and in-residency nursing preparation courses that build the academic and clinical foundation needed for success in professional nursing education.

Steps to Become a Registered Nurse (RN) Through the Pre-Nursing to BSN Track
The pathway from Pre-Nursing to becoming a registered nurse is outlined below.
What to Expect in the Pre-Nursing to BSN Pathway
- Apply and gain admission
- Complete general education and in-residency nursing preparation courses
- Submit a request to transition into the Nursing Direct (BSN) program
- Complete nursing core coursework and clinical training
- Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Take the NCLEX-RN licensure examination
Pathway to the BSN Program
After completing all required coursework, students may request to transition into the upper-division BSN program, known as the Nursing Direct program.
Once admitted into Nursing Direct, students begin:
- Core nursing coursework
- Hands-on clinical training
- Patient-centered care experiences
This phase prepares students for real-world nursing environments and professional responsibilities.
