Health Leadership Fellowship Supporting Postbaccalaureate Alumni in Community Health Leadership
The Dr. David M. Carlisle Health Leadership Fellowship (DMC HLF), funded by the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI), supports CDU Postbaccalaureate Leadership Program alumni who are committed to advancing healthcare access and strengthening their leadership skills. Fellows complete a service project in primary care or behavioral health and are placed at partnering clinical sites in medically underserved areas. Each fellow is paired with a physician leader in Los Angeles or Orange County to gain mentorship, practical experience, and deeper insight into community-focused health leadership.

Program Overview
The Dr. David M. Carlisle Health Leadership Fellowship (DMC HLF), funded by the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI), is a 9-month fellowship for CDU Postbaccalaureate Leadership Program Alumni. To find out more information about the application.
Eligibility
- Be a CDU Postbaccalaureate Leadership Program Alumnus
- Have a CDU Postbacc BCPM GPA of 3.7 or higher
- Have an MCAT score of 501 or higher
- Applying to medical school in 2026-2027 Application Cycle
Desired Criteria
- Preferences will be given to first-generation students and individuals who identify as having come from a community that is underrepresented in medicine, or marginalized economically, socially, and/or educationally.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving underresourced populations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
