As the University’s in-house creative team, Marketing and Communications staff work with members of the campus community to bring content ideas to life.
These guidelines serve as a framework for collaboration, helping us create the most effective and impactful materials to support your goals and CDU’s priorities.
Costs
CDU Marketing and Communications (CDUMC) does not charge for its services. However, costs for printing, mailing, or hiring external vendors are incurred by the college, division, or department making the request. CDUMC can collect cost estimates from trusted vendors as part of its assigned project scope.
Photography and Videography
CDUMC prioritizes photography assignments based on their relevance to University-wide and the Office of Strategic Advancement’s goals. In-house photographers are able to photograph events when the resulting images serve a direct purpose in marketing, communications, or to ensure an official visual record of an event is maintained by the institution.
Assignments unlikely to be accepted by Marketing and Communications are:
Professional headshots for groups
“Roll call” or “red carpet” photography, such as awards and honors ceremonies, where the photographer is required to remain in a fixed position
Assignments requiring full coverage for more than two hours
Assignments requiring travel
All images produced by Marketing and Communications staff are the property of Charles R. Drew University’s Office of Strategic Advancement and are protected under the copyright of the University.
