Cost of Attendance (COA) Adjustments
Students at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU) may request an adjustment to their Cost of Attendance (COA) if they experience special or unusual financial circumstances that affect their ability to pay for college.
To discuss your eligibility or begin a request, please contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships for guidance on the COA adjustment process.
Examples of Special or Unusual Circumstances
Students may qualify for a COA adjustment under one or more of the following situations:
- A change in employment status, income, or assets affecting financial stability
- A change in housing status, such as homelessness or loss of housing
- Tuition expenses for an elementary or secondary school sibling or dependent
- Additional family members enrolled in college during the same academic year
- Medical, dental, or nursing home expenses not covered by insurance
- Childcare or dependent care costs are required for continued enrollment
- A severe disability affecting the student or a household member
- Other documented changes in financial circumstances that impact educational costs
