Adriana L. Medrano, PhD, is a Xicana Community-Clinical Psychologist and the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. Dr. Medrano received her PhD in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Multicultural Community-Clinical Psychology, from the California School of Professional Psychology.
She serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Community Psychology Program at Charles R. Drew University and is also an Adjunct Professor for Pepperdine University’s Aliento MFT Program. Dr. Medrano’s clinical and community work includes a small private practice rooted in Liberation and Mujerista Psychology, with a particular focus on the reclamation of spiritual and ancestral medicine for Black, Brown, and Indigenous Womxn, Femme, and Queer Folx of Color. Grounded in a community-centered and liberatory framework, she also co-founded the nonprofit Roots of South Los Angeles Wellness Center, which promotes healing and wellness among BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) in her home community of South Central Los Angeles.
