Originally from Oklahoma City, they hold a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma, an M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Langston University, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University. They are a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). They currently serve as an Assistant Professor at California State University, Los Angeles, and as a Psychology Adjunct at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. Their teaching experience also includes appointments at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, National University, and Jackson State University. Their research focuses on peer support and mentorship, workplace-induced trauma, and liberatory pedagogies, with an emphasis on advancing equitable and community-centered approaches to education and care.

In addition to their academic work, they are actively engaged in community service and ongoing professional development. They volunteer with nonprofit organizations throughout the Los Angeles area and are currently pursuing an associate degree in diagnostic medical sonography at Healthcare Career College. Their long-term goals include entrepreneurship, real estate investment, and continued growth across healthcare and education. They are also intentionally aligning their personal and professional life with the eight domains of wellness, with a commitment to living fully and embracing joy as a form of resistance.
