Financial Aid & Scholarships
Welcome to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships
We believe that an education at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU) is an excellent investment and our Financial Aid program is designed to help you afford that education. In an effort to better assist you through the financial aid application process, CDU provides counseling hours Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, except holidays, available to students and their parents who have questions or would like further clarification regarding the Financial Aid process.
The 2013/2014 FAFSA is available now. For maximum Financial Aid eligibility for the 2013/2014 academic year, students must file by the April 2 priority deadline. Here are some mistakes to avoid when applying for Financial Aid.

Determining Financial Aid Eligibility
Your annual Cost of Attendance (COA) is the total amount of money that a college or university calculates is required to attend that specific institution. It usually includes direct costs (such as tuition, books and fees), as well as indirect costs (such as room and board, transportation and other miscellaneous education-related expenses). Generally, financial aid is intended to help bridge the gap between your COA and what you and your family can afford to contribute towards your education. Therefore, your financial aid eligibility is determined by subtracting your Expected Family Contribution (EFC)—as determined by your processed FAFSA application—from your total annual COA at a given school.
To estimate a projected cost of attendance, students are encouraged to utilize the Net Price Calculator .
