Break the Chains is a newly founded club created to discuss various topics such as immigration policy, health disparities and other societal issues which adversely affect underserved populations. Charles R. Drew University Student Government (CDUSG)

Charles R. Drew University Student Government (CDUSG) is a student-led organization comprised of three schools: the College of Medicine, the College of Science and Health and the Mervyn M. Dymally School of Nursing. Our student-run government strives to maintain excellent communications between students and the administration. Every student enrolled at CDU is automatically a member of CDUSG and can voice their opinions or student concerns through it.

CDUSG promotes unity within the student body by maintaining and exercising students’ rights to voice their views, interests and needs. CDUSG's mission is in accordance with the mission of CDU, as it creates student leaders who will carry on the legacy and mission of Dr. Charles R. Drew in their professional careers.

Critical Exploration of Academic Literature (CEAL)

CEAL was established by CDU students to facilitate a safe and active environment for students who are interested in gaining exposure to scientific literature while promoting critical thought. The organization’s goal aims to show the importance of being knowledgeable about the evolving medical field while also providing a platform for students to discuss and critically analyze articles amongst their peers.

Delta Epsilon Iota-Alpha Kappa Delta

Delta Epsilon Iota is an academic honor society. Our mission is to encourage academic excellence, educate our members about career development, and promote the principles of Dedication, Enthusiasm and Initiative in all aspects of campus life. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 3.30 and have a minimum of 30 completed semester hours.

Delta Omega Honor Society

Delta Omega is the national honorary society for graduate studies in public health founded in 1924 and now has chapters at 84 of the accredited schools. Membership in Delta Omega requires leadership and outstanding performance as well as scholarship in students, teaching and research in faculty members, and community service in alumni. The Gamma Phi Chapter of Delta Omega at CDU was established in 2014. The chapter upholds the standards of the national organization by providing academic recognition, continuous education, professional development, networking, and community service in underserved communities.

The mission of CDU Global Health Initiative is to serve underprivileged populations from a global perspective by improving patient-centered care and individualizing patient needs. Preconception Peer Educator Club

The Preconception Peer Educator Club is a new organization whose mission is to advocate for the health of newborn babies by educating would-be parents in communities identified as high risk for infant mortality, low birth weight and other health issues, primarily in the south Los Angeles area. Pre-Dental Society

The Pre-Dental Society seeks to create a network for Mighty Lions who are interested in the field of dentistry. The Pre-Dental Society will provide collaboration, support and information, such as advice on applying to dental school while embodying the University mission of service by providing opportunities to volunteer.

The Pre-Health Society is an organization with the purpose of helping students become better candidates for advanced studies in professional health programs.
