CDU Scholarships

Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science proudly announces CDU scholarships available for the
2017-2018 academic year! We expect to award approximately $500,000 of scholarship funds. Of this total amount, $165,000 will be awarded to continuing students. Scholarships will be awarded in $2,000 to $5,000 increments.

We encourage you to complete the 2017-2018 Scholarship Application and email the CDU Scholarship Application and required application materials to cduscholarships@cdrewu.eduprior to the March 10th deadline.

DEADLINE: March 10, 2017 at 6pm

NOTE: Be aware that some scholarships may have special eligibility requirements and may require additional materials for consideration as described in the application form. Such additional materials must accompany the application. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Candidates must pay close attention to the additional criteria required by each scholarship.

To be considered for CDU scholarships, you must complete and email the CDU Scholarship Application and required application materials to, no later than March 10, 2017 at 6pm. Hard copies will not be accepted.

All eligible applications will be reviewed by the University Scholarship Committee, a group made up of university faculty and staff. Each application for each scholarship program is scored independently by multiple committee members, using rubrics for scoring which are customized to the criteria of each scholarship program. Awards of merit based scholarships do not impact eligibility for other merit based scholarships. Need is considered for some scholarship awards.

Scholarship announcements will be made May 1st for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 awards.

A forum will be held on February 1, 2017 from 12pm—1pm and 5pm—6pm in the Cobb Student Lounge to answer questions about the scholarship application process.
