Training and Education

All researchers, whether faculty, staff, or students, who obtain data through intervention or interaction with participants and/or collect or analyze participant’s identifiable information, must complete initial and continuing education and training.  Faculty sponsors are also expected to satisfy the training requirement.

Initial and Continuing Training – Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Online Course at www.citiprogram.org.

How to register with CITI and add required courses.

Take Refresher Course 1 before basic course expires
Take Refresher Course 2 before Refresher Course 1 expires
Take Refresher Course 3 before Refresher Course 2 expires (if no Refresher Course 3, take Basic Course)

*Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) Course

Take the basic course again with different electives

Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Course

Take the basic course again until the refresher course becomes available
