Stanley H. Hsia, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, and a Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He obtained his MD degree at the University of Toronto, Canada, completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Queen’s University, Canada, a Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Toronto, and postdoctoral research at the University of California, San Diego. He is certified in Endocrinology & Metabolism by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as well as in clinical lipid disorders with the American Board of Clinical Lipidology. He currently teaches in the Charles Drew University-UCLA medical education program, serves as a principal investigator with the National Research Institute in Huntington Park, CA, and is also a private practice endocrinologist with the Southern California Endocrine Group in Orange, CA. His academic interests focus on insulin resistance and its related conditions, including obesity, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, and he has previously been received research grants from both the National Institutes of Health and the American Diabetes Association. He has published original research studies, review articles, CME programs, and book chapters, and has presented his research at numerous local, national and international meetings.
