CDU's PAs take second place

Charles Drew University’s Physician Assistant Program came in second place in the Kaiser Student Medical Challenge Bowl at the California Academy of Physician Assistants’ 33rd Annual Conference last month in Palm Springs. CDU’s team consisted of 2010 class members Jaime Martinez, Makell Murphy and Anna Nazaryan. Alternate team members included Manuk Chulyan, Celia Espinoza and Rachel Riley. Head Coach Beverly Lassiter and Assistant Coach Marcus Nesbeth lead the CDU team, which was cheered on by nearly 30 students, faculty and staff members who traveled to the Palm Springs Convention Center to see the competition. CDU’s PA program is the oldest in the state. In winning the competition, USC’s PA Program took home the first place trophy and a check for $250.
