Dr. Carlisle speak at the State of the University 2019

The 2022 CDU State of the University (SOTU) address will take place on Tuesday, August 30, at 11 a.m. PST. The CDU community is invited to attend the event in person on campus or anyone can view the speech live via Zoom. As is tradition, the address will be delivered by the University’s President and CEO, Dr. David M. Carlisle. This will be the first in-person State of the University address since 2019, with last year’s event having been broadcast without attendees during a COVID-19 campus closure. This year’s event will be held on campus on the W.M. Keck Building Lawn.

The SOTU address is an opportunity for the President to reflect on the University’s recent accomplishments and lay out objectives for the future. This year’s theme is “Progress and Perseverance.” Previous themes have included “Fulfilling Our Promise” (2021), “We are Outstanding” (2020), “Staying the Course” (2019), “Breaking New Ground” (2018), and “Growth” (2016). The morning event will also include an invocation to commence the proceedings.

In person attendees should RSVP here by August 15. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, including booster, is required for entry to the campus. Attendees will also be required to take a COVID-19 test upon arrival, so guests should plan to arrive early. Remote attendees can RSVP here to be sent a link to view the event.
