Career Fair Brings Recruits to Campus

CDU Career Services hosted a career fair on campus in April. The event, which took place in the Student Center Lounge, drew multitudes of CDU students, some of whom arrived dressed sharply for potential interviews.

Around 25 healthcare companies were present to recruit students to organizations such as APLA Health, UCLA Health, Maxim Healthcare Services, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles, Stem to the Future, and more.

“To prepare, I read the email to see some of the different organizations that would be here and I noticed some of the organizations like UCLA Health and LA County, which are definitely some organizations that I would love to work for,” said Kristin Hildreth, Master of Public Health Program student. “I feel like it was a successful day. I can go home and look up different opportunities that I heard about.”

As a graduating student in the Master of Public Health program, the Career Fair proved to be a great opportunity for Kristin to speak with representatives and learn about entry level positions in the field of public health.

“During the year we work on professional development, students attend workshops, and we work on preparing them for the transition from education into the workforce,” shared Allison Yi, Career Advisor. “This event is an opportunity for students to exercise those skills and get employed, get internships for the summer, do their volunteer hours, and build a network by the time they graduate.”

The Career and Internship Fair is one of the biggest events hosted by Career Services. To further participation, students were encouraged to visit at least five booths and complete a survey to be entered into a raffle to win an Amazon or Target gift card.

Career Services is committed to helping students and alumni achieve their professional career goals through resources, essential information, and support. Students and alumni are strongly encouraged to make an appointment with the Career Advisor regarding any career-related matters. The Career Services office is located in the Student Center.
