CDU General Fund: Gifts to the General Fund allow the University to distribute resources wherever there is the most need. Your gift may be used for costs related to research, student aid, facilities and more.

Annual Mission Makers Campaign: Mission Makers are friends and supporters of CDU who believe in our mission and have made a contribution to ensure our success. Schools and Colleges

  • College of Science and Health: Support our unique and dynamic educational center encompassing a range of disciplines dedicated to eliminating health disparities.
    • The Albert Jerome Saunders, Sr., College of Science and Health Alumni Scholarship: Scholarships will be awarded annually to CDU students who demonstrate the potential of becoming a committed allied health professional and are dedicated to improving the overall health of underserved communities
  • College of Medicine: Support the next health care leaders dedicated to underserved communities in Los Angeles, across the country, and abroad.
  • School of Nursing: Support a high-quality education for nurses that provide culturally sensitive care with dignity, respect and compassion.


  • Cancer: Help fund pioneering research towards a promising cancer treatments and therapies.

Pipeline Programs

  • Saturday Science Academy II: Saturday Science Academy exposes Pre-K through 12th grade students to fun and engaging science material in an effort to motivate them to move into health care fields after graduating high school. The program deepens and sustains student interest in science and health education, and establishes a pathway through college and into health professions.
  • The President Scholars Program: President Scholars are seniors with the highest scholastic aptitude who participate in a yearlong Program at CDU. Students who are selected into the program earn a full ride scholarship towards their education at CDU. Any individual who is a part of the President Scholars Program is eligible to apply for the CDU full-ride Presidential Scholarship.
  • Opportunity Scholars Program: Students accepted into this program have access to attend CDU lectures and are eligible to receive a scholarship to attend Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. Some of the benefits of the program include waived application fee, networking and mentoring opportunities, guaranteed priority admission for 12th grade students who meet the minimum requirements and early admittance for 10th and 11th grade students.
  • Project STRIDE (Students Training in Research Involving Disparity Elimination): A 10-week summer health science immersion program that exposes and engages underrepresented 11th and 12th grade students to clinical research. Due to the critical shortage of minorities in biomedical research and the health professions the overarching goal of Project STRIDE is to increase the number of underrepresented minority and disadvantaged students in the pipeline who are committed to research in health sciences
  • Medical Careers Program: The Medical Careers program is designed to expose students to careers in medicine and science. Students gain valuable experience and develop a foundation to be competitive candidates in post-secondary institutions. After participating, students are motivated and inspired to explore careers in the health field.
  • CDU Mobile STEM Labs: This program encourages students to enter the health care field and is aimed towards eliminating disparities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics curriculum. Additionally, the standards-based learning laboratories enhance opportunities of disadvantaged students to excel in their academic achievements. The overarching goal of the program is to increase the number of minority youth who successfully complete college in the STEM fields.
