Program Overview
The ESAR Program seeks to provide students with research experiences and academic enhancement training that will empower students to make a difference in their communities and become involved in science and health professional careers. The goal of the program is to increase the number of URM community college students who are prepared to pursue research careers in the biomedical sciences.
The ESAR Program is a two-component program that includes an 8-week Summer Research Training Program and a year-round Pathway to Research Careers Continuum. The Summer Research Training Program will take place at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU). Participants will engage in a hands-on research project under the guidance of an established researcher working in areas related to aging research. In addition, participants will participate in a virtual Orientation via Zoom. Participants will be required to attend a hybrid mandatory weekly enrichment workshop focused on aging research.
