General Education Curriculum
The General Studies curriculum is approved by the College's Education and Academic Policy Committee (EAPC) and the Academic Senate Assessment and Program Curriculum Committee.
Consistent with the values and the mission of the University, the coursework in the general education program is designed to equip students with the fundamental tools for active lifelong learning and full participation in and engagement with their contemporary world, allowing students to explore different disciplines and interests. This helps students discover their passions and strengths, preparing them for various career paths.
The CDU General Education coursework ensures that every student develops and demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency in the following areas based on Western(WSCUC) 5 Core Competencies.

Students must complete a total of 40 units distributed in categories A - G
