Department of Urban Public Health (DUPH)
Master of Public Health (MPH) in Urban Health Disparities
The CDU MPH program in Urban Health Disparities continues the University's tradition of addressing the health and education needs of underserved communities. Cultivating highly competent and committed health professionals, our MPH program offers an academically rigorous environment uniquely focused on the urban social determinants of health.
The CDU MPH program offers intimate evening classes conducive for working adults and provides opportunities for students to conduct research with COU faculty, participate in community-based research, acquire public health hands-on skills, advocate for social justice and health equity, and develop innovative public health programs. Learning in South Los Angeles, students are exposed to public health within a health disparities framework and join a historic institution that has both geographically and demographically linked itself with underserved communities of color.
