• If I am a transfer student, can I still apply to HCOP?

    • Yes, you are eligible to apply if you are entering CDU as a Freshman or Sophomore when you transfer.
  •  What degree programs are eligible to apply?
    • To be eligible students must be enrolled full-time in one of the following CDU programs:
  •  If I do not have a SSN or TIN, can I apply?
    • No, unfortunately students without a legally-obtained SSN or TIN are not eligible to apply, because HCOP programs are federally funded by the Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW).
  •  If I am a DACA student, can I apply?
    • No, unfortunately DACA students are also not eligible to apply to any BHW-funded HCOP programs.
  •  If I am a nursing, PA, rad tech, medical school, or second year master’s student, can I apply? 
    • No. Nursing, Rad Tech, P.A., and Medical students are not eligible for CDU HCOP.


  • When is the application due? 

    • For the 2019 application cycle, the final deadline is September 13th 11:59pm.
  •  How do I submit my application?

  • How do I submit an official or physical copy of my transcripts?
    • You can mail or hand-deliver your   transcripts to the CDU HCOP office:


  • Is the HCOP scholarship renewable? Will I get funding every year?

    • CDU HCOP scholarships are one-time awards. Any funding available to students for subsequent years is not guaranteed, variable, and contingent on continued eligibility & participation.


  • I am interested in the HCOP program, but may not have time to attend all the activities or complete all the requirements. Should I still apply?

    • Once selected, HCOP Scholars are expected to fully commit themselves. Students who have pre-existing obligations or other commitments that would significantly conflict with HCOP should not apply.
  • What types of activities or events does HCOP provide? 
    • HCOP Scholars have opportunities to participate in all of the following:

      • Clinical/Faculty Research ● Networking w/ Healthcare Professionals ● Academic Coaching/Planning ● Mentoring ● Skill-Building Workshops ● Learning Communities ● Volunteer Service ● and more!
