SPECTRUM Community Services

SPECTRUM Community Services and Research opened in 1994 as a SAMHSA (CMHS) HIV Mental Health demonstration project. On the campus of Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, SPECTRUM is a comprehensive mental health and psychosocial support service center that serves individuals living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in South Los Angeles. In addition to culturally appropriate mental health services, SPECTRUM provides outpatient substance abuse treatment, case management, peer support, and HIV/AIDS treatment education. All services are provided in both English and Spanish. SPECTRUM also partners with other service organizations to provide specialized housing services, dental treatment, legal services and a food bank.
