VA Long Beach Healthcare System

The Long Beach Veterans Hospital is the primary site of the CDU Internal Medicine residency program. It is a tertiary care hospital caring for 56,000 veterans in Southern California.  There are 96 medical and surgical beds, a 15-bed ICU, surgical suites, GI and pulmonary procedure suites, a cardiac catheterization lab, two psychiatric units, and more where you will be taking care of patients.

The Primary Care Health Care Group will serve as the continuity clinic for the residents. This is a fully integrated group using an interdisciplinary (Patient Aligned Care Team) approach to provide the continuum of care for veterans in the Long Beach VA Healthcare System.

Our VA is known for its rich clinical experiences with excellent training from dedicated faculty and constant supervision immediately available on-site, as well as a robust patient population volume that provides exposure to a wide range of illnesses and diseases.
