Deadlines for Admission and Financial Aid

Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU) encourages prospective students to adhere to the following application deadlines, which were established to support the financial aid processing timeline. All applicants are encouraged to apply for federal financial aid at the time they apply for admission to an academic degree program, or as early as January 1 of each year.

 

Fall 2018

Priority Deadline

April 30, 2018

NOTE: CDU programs offer rolling admissions. Applications are considered after the recommended deadlines until the class is filled.

Timeline for federal aid processing for applicants who apply by the priority deadline for the fall semester:

December 1:

  • Priority deadline for submitting application for admission.

February 1:

  • Office of Admissions mails early acceptance letters for fall semester of the same calendar year.
  • Student applies for federal financial aid online at http://www.fafsa.gov/. The Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science code is 013653.

April 1:

  • Priority deadline to apply for federal financial aid. Students who meet eligibility criteria and submit a FAFSA and all required documents by April 1 will be considered for SEOG and CDU scholarships.
    Note: Financial aid award letters will be mailed within two to three weeks from receipt of all required financial aid documents.

May 1:

  • For returning students: deadline for Intent to Enroll and Tuition Deposit.

Timeline for federal aid processing for applicants who apply by the recommended deadline for the fall semester:

March 1:

  • Recommended deadline for submitting application for admission.

April 1:

  • Office of Admissions mails acceptance letters for fall semester of the same calendar year.
  • Student applies for federal financial aid online at http://www.fafsa.gov/. The Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science code is 013653.

May 1:

  • For returning students: deadline for Intent to Enroll and Tuition Deposit.

July 1:

  • Deadline to apply for federal financial aid. Students who meet eligibility criteria and submit a FAFSA and all required documents by July 1 will be guaranteed a financial aid award in time for the start of classes.

    Note: Financial aid award letters will be mailed within two to three weeks from receipt of all required financial aid documents.
