Finding Journals
This list now contains all of our journals, both print and online. There are links to the full text of online journal articles. However, not all journals or journal issues are available online, so you may need to consult our print collection in order to find the information that you are looking for.
Print journals are located on the shelves to the left of the reference desk (as you enter the Library). The newest issues of selected titles are located in the Display Area immediately behind the reference desk. In both areas, journals are shelved alphabetically by title.
Occasionally, a journal may not be on the shelf. This could be because it has been checked out (bound volumes can be checked out for 1 week) or it might be at the bindery. Please ask a librarian for assistance.
There are two looseleaf binders on the circulation desk. These binders also contain a list of all of our journal titles. One is arranged by journal title, the other by subject.
Online Catalog
All of the Library's journal titles are referenced in the online catalog as well. When searching for a particular journal title, add the word "periodical" to your search request.
Other Library Catalogs
If you cannot find the journal that you are looking for, try looking in another library:
Interlibrary Loan
Registered Library users can take advantage of Interlibrary Loan (the Library will attempt to obtain a copy of the article from another institution). This service is offered at no charge. Please remember that ILL requests can normally take up to three weeks to arrive.
California Digital Library/Bruin Online
UCLA students (College of Medicine) and dually-appointed faculty can access the California Digital Library
(a collection of online journals and databases) via Bruin Online.
Document Delivery
There are a number of services that will deliver a copy of just about any journal article for a fee (typically $15-20). The user will be responsible for all charges incurred by using a document delivery service.
