In order to secure LAN or Internet access, please contact the Information Systems Department HELPDESK, Cobb Building Room 241.

Please note: In order for us to process your request, signatures of your department supervisor and department account manager are required if charges are to be occured.

Network Access Control (NAC) client

  1. You already log into the network domain with your computer.
  2. NAC is just another way of authenticating users so that they may gain access to the network.
  3. All users must authenticate with NAC, staff, students, and guests.
  4. There are two ways to log in to NAC, a Java client and the Cisco fat client.
  5. For staff the Cisco fat client is the preferred method, and should have been already installed on your computer. It’s called Cisco Clean Access Agent.
  6. Once you log into your computer you will see a pop-up screen that looks like this.

  1. Use the same user name and password that you used to log into your computer when the CDREWU domain is listed at the bottom of that login screen, and then click Login.
  2. Once done you might notice that the network link goes known for about half a minute then comes back. That is NAC assigning your computer to the “staff” network.
  3. Now you can use the network like before. It should be no different now.

If the NAC client was not installed on your computer then you must use the Java client to login.

  1. Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox.
  2. You will be redirected to the login page.

  1. If you get this page instead, just click on the bar at the top and enable ActiveX.

  1. Then click Run.

  1. Now you should get the login page.
  2. If you still get this page instead.

  1. That means that you computer does not have the Java Runtime Environment installed or the version is not current enough.
  2. Please contact the CDU Helpdesk at this point at 323-563-4990.
