SESC
Acceptable Use Policy:
The
College of Allied Health (COAH) Student Education
and Service Center (SESC) serves the educational
needs of the COAH students, faculty, and staff.
These users have priority in using the SESC
facilities. University and KDMC staff are welcome
to use the SESC, but may be asked to leave
if the computers are needed for educational
purposes.
Classes
accompanied by an instructor may schedule the
SESC for computer assisted instruction by contacting
SESC Manager, Linda Towles at Ext. 9351. Users
of the SESC may be asked to present Drew photo
identification at any time.
The
SESC is to be used only for educational purposes.
Anyone using the SESC for non-educational purposes
(e.g. online chat, games) may be asked to leave
by the SESC staff.
SESC
use must be appropriate to the educational
setting. Please conduct yourself in a respectful
manner. Usage that creates an uncomfortable
environment for others is not permitted. If
you are made uncomfortable by the activities
of anyone in the SESC, please notify the SESC
manager, or Security if necessary.
SESC
users may NOT alter the settings
of the SESC computers in any way without consulting
with SESC Computer Technician. This includes
color schemes, backgrounds, the Desktop, and
the Start Menu. Users of the SESC may NOT install
or delete software on the computers. This is
to ensure that the computers will continue
to work properly, and that software licensing
issues are appropriately addressed. You may
run software from the disks on which it came,
but do not install anything on the SESC computers.
Any unapproved software found on SESC machines
will be deleted.
SESC
computers will be cleaned everyday. For your
own protection, please save your work to a
floppy or ZIP disk, or to a personal user directory
on the network. Drew University and the SESC
staff will not be responsible for any data
or applications lost.
Users
who violate this use policy may be asked to
leave the SESC by any staff member. Continued
abuse of SESC policies may result in temporary
or permanent revocation of SESC use privileges.
Food
and drinks are not allowed in the SESC at any
time.
Students
of the Drew Medical Magnet High School may
use the SESC only for health sciences
research and school assignments. Sign-in
is required. During school hours (8am-3pm M-F)
students must have a signed pass. At other
times they may use the SESC as long as staff
are present. Students who are not complying
with this policy will be given one warning.
At that time they will be presented with the
SESC’s Acceptable Use Policy and their name
will be taken by SESC staff. A second infraction
will mean the loss of SESC privileges.
