Description:

The Software Developer will contribute to the research and development activities of the Center for Biomedical Informatics by developing databases-backed web applications and providing programming, implementation, maintenance and training support for biological and clinical informatics applications including a web portal that house electronic research for university faculty and researchers.  The projects are funded in part by a grant from National Institutes of Health and the contract is for a minimum of two years, renewable depending on performance.

Requirements:

Regionally accredited Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field required.  Master’s degree preferred. Two years of Java software development experience; C# and .Net programming knowledge and experience a plus.  Familiar with database administration and programming (MySQL, SQL). Strong knowledge of networking and database management fundamentals required for Java to database connectivity (JDBC, ODBC). Web application development and administration skills (e.g., HTML, XML, Java Server Pages, Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat). Experience with Microsoft Windows, Unix/Linux operating systems; ability to multi-tasking with competing deadlines; and demonstrated, excellent problem-solving skills.
